Louisiana Catahoula Leopard Dog is named after Catahoula Parish in the state of Louisiana in the United States. Among the remaining dogs, dog Catahoula is believed to be North America's longest dimension, besides dogs inherited genes from breeds were created in North America. This species is sometimes referred to incorrectly as Catahoula hound, but in fact it is not hound race, which is a hybrid dog.
